March Meeting

We had two guests from the American Cancer Society talk to us about the organization. One of these lovely ladies works with Glenda. They were very excited to get our pillows, the little hearts of hope and the hats.  I think we ended up with 127 heart pillows....

I did the program this month on the Disappearing 4 patch quilt and the Disappearing 9 patch quilts. These are fun and easy to do and use up alot of scraps...

This is one way to set the disappearing 9 patch blocks.

Another setting for the disappearing 9 patch blocks.

Now for some show and tell from our members...

Jackie made this Blooming 9 Patch quilt as a birthday gift for one of her daughters.

Deanna made this one. I love the chili pepper border on this chili cook-off T shirt quilt.

Back of the quilt.

Deanna's Pokie Little Puppy Quilt.  So adorable!

Back of the quilt.

This one is from Judy B.

Another one from Judy B.

Omigosh from Joyce

Miniature Omigosh...Joyce, measure twice, cut once but be sure all the numbers are on your measuring tape!  I loved her story and the quilts look great too.

This is going to be a Block of the Month from Thomas Sewing Center.

This is Helen's Fan Stack and Whack.  Beautiful!

Annalee's Political Tshirt quilt. The borders were great on this one..

This is Sandy's beautiful black, white and red quilt...

Linda B made this beauty.

Martha is working on this one this year. Just Takes Two for 2013

This is for Sally's great grandchild...I've always heard her say, "this ain't my first rodeo" so this is very appropriate for this new baby. Congrats, Sally!

A quilt for the baby.

Gotta have a pillow to go with the quilt.

I made this pink brick scrap quilt after seeing Sharon's quilt.

Hey, look at this!  This is so easy to make. It looks good with scraps or monochromatic.
3 1/2" X 6 1/2" bricks and 3 1/2" squares.  That's all there is to it...Easy, peasy.

Here's my 3D Bowtie Quilt. Not pretty but will be useful.

My Michigan Garden Quilt. This was a Thimbleberries pattern from several years ago. It's been hanging in my closet for several years and just got quilted. I love it.

Well, ladies, another great meeting and lots of great projects were shown. Please come see us next month and bring your show and tell too. We want to see what you are working on. Til next time, happy stitching.

  2. Thanks so much for doing the blog and the program last month was great! I've intended on making the disappearing 9 patch since we first learned it, and seeing all your work made me want to make one as well!
