Here's the schedule up through August for the mug rugs.
For everyone who might have an interest in making a mug rug, here is the list of themes for upcoming months, so you can get a head-start.
April: SelvagesAnything you want as long as it contains at least one selvage. Since I have a large supply of selvages my mug rug will contain a LOT of selvages.
May: Circles and dotsAnything round. Fabric with dots or circles; round flowers; apples and oranges are round… Anything round.
June: BirdsFabric with birds; appliqued birds; birdhouses. Anything with a bird theme.
July: FoodAnything with a food theme. Recipes on fabric; food on fabric; pieced teapot; appliqued banana or strawberries… Anything with a food theme.
August: Log Cabin. Any fabrics you want to use to make either one log cabin, two log cabins, wonky log cabins… they don’t have to be straight or even or symmetrical… there can be one or multiples… they can be bordered or not… anything with a log cabin block theme.
Be creative and try something new. I’m challenging myself to try and quilt each month’s mug rug in a different way. And remember that these are NOT heirloom quilts-they are to be used and washed. Most of all, have fun! Enjoy the process.
