Our first meeting for 2014!

Ah, a new year, it brings new beginnings as well as new challenges.  Our January meeting was a fun meeting.  We played a game with fat quarters and I think everyone liked it.  We played with regular dice but it was the same game as Left, Right, Center.  We set up tables and had four winners of all the fat quarters.  I was one of the lucky winners of the night.

We had great show and tell this month too.  Our ladies have been busy even over the holidays.

Rosemarie won the Christmas blocks and is making two quilts out of them. Here's the first one and she's still working on the other one.

Mary was shy but this is her little project she worked on.

Diana has worked on a few projects

A toilet seat cover....

Here's Sue's strippy quilt

This is her Grandparent quilt. It has all kinds of great quotes on it about grandkids.

Here's a few of the quotes...

Glenda is finishing the binding on this one for one of her students.  Great looking T-shirt quilt.

Here's a baby quilt from Sharon

Here's the back of the quilt

Sharon made this cute chicken quilt.

Here's Daphne's' scrap quilt, she is hand quilting this one.

Here's a sweet heart quilt from Martha.  The middle of the quilt was signatures from a swap she was in.

Here's some close ups of some of the hearts.

Judy H has been appliqueing with wool.

Here's a little wallhanging by Ruth

Ruth also made these little potholders using the regular pot holder loom but she made it using yarn and weaving it on the loom...

Next month we will be having a stuffing party.  We are making heart pillows to give to cancer patients.  We gave the pattern out at this meeting.  Go ahead and sew up your hearts and bring them to the meeting or you can start stuffing them and finish them at the meeting. A rep from the American Cancer society will be visiting with us and she will take these home with her to give out.  Please come and enjoy the friendship and comradery and help us make heart pillows.
