Our first meeting for 2014!

Ah, a new year, it brings new beginnings as well as new challenges.  Our January meeting was a fun meeting.  We played a game with fat quarters and I think everyone liked it.  We played with regular dice but it was the same game as Left, Right, Center.  We set up tables and had four winners of all the fat quarters.  I was one of the lucky winners of the night. 

We had great show and tell this month too.  Our ladies have been busy even over the holidays.

Rosemarie won the Christmas blocks and is making two quilts out of them. Here's the first one and she's still working on the other one.

 

Mary was shy but this is her little project she worked on.

Ruth also made these little potholders using the regular pot holder loom but she made it using yarn and weaving it on the loom...

 

Next month we will be having a stuffing party.  We are making heart pillows to give to cancer patients.  We gave the pattern out at this meeting.  Go ahead and sew up your hearts and bring them to the meeting or you can start stuffing them and finish them at the meeting. A rep from the American Cancer society will be visiting with us and she will take these home with her to give out.  Please come and enjoy the friendship and comradery and help us make heart pillows.
