Knitted Scarves

Martha has shared a knitted scarf pattern.  These should knit up quickly and make great Christmas gifts...

Drop Stitch Scarf
Cast on 8 stitches.

Knit 6 rows (3 ridges).

Next Row - Knit 1, *wrap yarn around needle twice, knit 1; repeat from * across.

Next Row - Knit, dropping extra wraps from previous row.

Knit 3 rows.

Repeat the last 5 rows until about 2 yards [2 m] of yarn remain, ending after knitting 3 rows. Knit 2 more rows. Bind off.
I have made this one using 10 and 14 needles and 2 different weight yarns. I also added stitches to make it a little wider. Use any size needles, yarn, and number of stitches that you want. It come out really cute and knits up very fast.

I've rotated the picture a few times and it keeps coming out sideways.  Sorry, but I think you can tell what it looks like...

Here's the other scarf she wanted to share.

Potato Chip Scarf

Row 2.knit 6, turn, knit back to beginning
Row 3. Knit 4, turn, knit back to beginning

Repeat these rows until desired length is reached. End off.
