The December party meeting

Ah, December, can you believe it?  This year has certainly passed quickly!  I can't believe we've had such hot weather in December either...they say the cold is coming so be prepared!

The meeting started out with food, friends and fun.  If you missed this one, you really missed a good time.  We hope the ones that missed are safe and healthy.

The food was great, thanks to everyone for making it a special meal and time for fellowship...Send me your recipes!!!

We got to visit for a while before we ate...It was fun to sit and talk and catch up on what everyone was doing.  The table decorations and gifts were great.  Thank you to all that helped and to our great leaders for making this a special time....We really appreciate all that you do!

Here's the sweet mug rugs for this month...They were all cute but Sharon says this is the last time for the exchange.  It was fun to see all the imagination and creativity that came into play each month.

Time for some show and tell.  We were told to bring some Christmas quilts.  I have several but just brought my latest.  Here's one I made this year and he was fun to make...

I won this little kit as a door prize one month. Anna (she wasn't at this month's meeting) donated this and I love it...

Ok, here's my Christmas present quilt.  I haven't quilted it yet but wanted to show you how it turned out.  I really like the border and  can't wait to quilt it.  It won't be finished for this Christmas but I'll get to use it next Christmas for sure.  I can't wait to see the church quilt put together!

Linda B. made this one up herself.  So cute!

Here's another of her great Christmas quilts.

And another one!

Martha and Joyce took Sandra's (Plum Good Quilting) class and they made these lovely little quilts.  It was a piping class and they said they had a great time...

I love this picture! This is Joyce's cute container for chips...

Sandy's Purple Christmas Twister Wreath...So lovely!

Dianne made this for one of the favorite men in her life.  Great colors!

Susan made this lovely butterfly quilt using a dye cutter.  Love the butterflies!  Wouldn't these go great with the floating four patch quilts????

Well, that's it for this year.  It was so good to see everyone at the party.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year!

November Happenings

Ok, girls, sorry for the delay. My internet connection was out for a few weeks.  Here's what happened in November!

Here's the mug rugs of the month. This month's theme was prints. These were so cute!

Here's the wonderful Christmas swap blocks.  Love those Dresden plates.

Our guest speaker was Debbe Sheridan. She did a great talk about Wool Dying. Great info! At the top of the page, there is a new tab with the info on wool dying that Debbe passed out at the meeting.  Thank you, Debbe, for the great program and the good information!

Some websites with dye information.

Playing with dye.

Willie was the lucky winner of the raffle quilt that Jackie G. and her friends of the library made.

Karen and a group of her ladies make these little bags for children in the hospital. If you have any children's print fabrics, she would gladly take them off your hands.

This is a love quilt Diane made for a friend of hers. Jackie G. quilted it.

This is Judy B's quilt she worked on at retreat.

Judy B also worked on this one at retreat.  I love it....

I think this on was Deanna's twist quilt.  (At least that looks like the top of her head!) Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Linda W is still working on her little quilts.  There are 12 quilts in the book and they snap onto an outside quilted frame....

Here's some other sweet things she's been working on.

Linda made a cute purse.

Look at her beautiful Pumpkin quilt.

Deanna will have to watch Martha really close so she doesn't take this cutey!

A lovely quilt by Deanna

Here's some blocks with texture.  All the blocks can be made and a link for these is in the sidebar under Some Fun and Helpful Tutorials: Textured Sampler Quilt tutorial...

Judy H's beautiful One Block Wonder quilt.

Diana's been busy making Christmas gifts.

Look at this beauty by Nona!

Here's a lovely tablerunner Nona made.

Here's an applique block by Nona, she took a class on this one and I'm sorry to say I don't remember who she said gave the class. I will update the info when I get it.

Here's a Jelly Roll quilt by Sally

Martha made this lovely little quilt for a new niece.  It was quilted by Sandra of Plum Good quilting. She and her daughter came last month and talked to us....

We had some wonderful projects done over the last month.  We are now looking forward to the Christmas season and our Christmas party. Please bring your Christmas quilts for show and tell.  Bring your finished blocks for the Dresden swap and your blocks for the Christmas present quilt to give to the church.  Also, bring a Christmas fat quarter to play Martha's  fat quarter game.  Til next time, happy quilting.
